🎸 Roady Hint
Start small. Set Drill mode to two strings — low E and A are the most useful anchors. Once those feel automatic, add one string at a time. Naturals-only first, then bring in the sharps and flats. The neck learns itself in layers.

Once you know where the notes live, see how they connect as scales and arpeggios — or read the guide on learning the neck without memorizing shapes.

How do I find a note on the guitar fretboard?
Select the note from the dropdown in Find mode. Every position of that note lights up across the full neck instantly. You can use Difficulty Scope in Drill mode to focus on a specific string or fret range.
What is the best way to memorize notes on the guitar neck?
Start with two strings — the low E and A are the most useful anchors. Use Drill mode with those strings selected and naturals-only turned on. Expand one string at a time as positions start to feel automatic. The neck learns itself in layers.
What is the difference between Find mode and Drill mode?
Find mode is a reference tool — pick a note and see every position instantly, or tap any dot to identify it. Drill mode is a quiz: it either asks you to tap the right position for a given note, or highlights a position and asks you to name it. Drill mode tracks your streak and accuracy.
Does the Note Finder work for 7 and 8-string guitars?
Yes. The strings selector supports 6, 7, and 8-string standard tunings. The fretboard and all note positions update automatically when you switch.
